I hate on Clinton cuz I voted for him, its one thing to send the people of our armed forces to battle...but to do it, arm them less then minimally....and then when the shit hits the fan just try to sweep it under the rug like he didnt know what was going on and then going above and beyond the call of duty to get things stirred up to get the American people to forget about it(via the media)...
I said it before in one of my posts....If either side digs around and picks and chooses their info and statistics, their side will show the benefits What I bring that back up for is this, SO WHAT if there was several polls done and they were averaged, the United States is a HUGE country....if I wanted to skew the numbers all I hafta do is get a registered voters list of who voted predominately republican and have 2-3 of my buddies call the same people after I do...then the President is a hero...the media will skew anything and everything they can to whoever best suits their needs....and on the Clinton topic....Has anyone ever heard a "logical and realistic" reason why we were in Somalia fighting with sticks and stones instead of the best our forces has?? No you will nerever get that answer, "That was in the past let it be" is all you will hear...the following is just a bs letter to Democratic Senator Sarbanes...its supposed to be funny, but in the omfg its so true point...THIS is why I also have a problem with the welfare slobs...as Node said all the ones around here drive better cars, and get free medical attention, and free food, and in some cases if ur on the programs long enough or have enough kids they(the state) will give you vouchers to pay your utilities(no matter if you leave EVERY light in the house on 24/7) and give you vouchers for gas for your car. Now if poeple use it as a temporary thing to help them get back on their feet after an unfortunate situation I understand that as shit happens...but these people that make a career out of living off of the state and MY HARD FUKN EARNED money that is a problem to me...no I dont feel it should be spent in other countries either, and explain to me why we are buying mosquito nets for hospitals in africa???? wtf...I thought we needed the money here?? whatever...everybody has their view, you can either try and see others views with an open mind or you can insesintly argue your point and "refuse" to see anybody elses point....History has shown how the Democratic party votes on things like are in this letter below...draw your own conclusions as I know you will refuse to see any other point of view anyways.

The Honorable Paul S. Sarbanes Senate Office Building
309 Hart Washington DC , 20510

Dear Senator Sarbanes,

As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year. Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car. If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,

I'd really doubt the +-5%. Thats impossible. Maybe within those people surveyed. Like I said I wasn't asked, nor was ANYONE I know and I know a lot of people who would speak up about being asked as they all see these "polls" as wrong because they can't possibly ask everyone.

So because you know a few Republican supporters, the whole country is that way? Wrong. And 100,000 shows only 10% support? Wrong as well. You factor in that MOST people don't go out and voice their opinions in protests, and 100,000 is a TON of people.

You call over ~60% of the population in an area a few people? Im not sure its exactly 60% but I know I saw more republican supporters than democrat supporters and pretty much every house had one of those signs showing who they supported. Yet some how the area voted democrat. Thats a problem. Everyone sees Maryland turning to republican but the people that count the ballots. Kind of weird if you ask me.

How about the solution of NOT THROWING AWAY OUR MONEY? Did we NEED to give $600,000,000,000 for a war and a country not of our own? Do we need to pass this bill Bush is trying to get through, that will give him $2,900,000,000,000 for the military so he can continue with Iraq and possibly move on Iran and Syria? Yes, that's 2.9 TRILLION DOLLARS!

Go for it. Its because he can't do what he wants that it has to cost so much. I know leveling a country doesn't cost that much. It can't. But we have to play nice so it will cost so much. If thats what it takes go for it. Thats a part of my taxes Im proud to pay for, except for the rebuilding part.

When this is all over with, our kids will have no America to live in. We may as well start handing out kids over to other countries as slaves and have them work off our debts, because at this rate it will happen sooner or later anyway.

What debts? We have the 3rd highest currency in the world. Its going down but I doubt in my lifetime it will become bad enough for the situation you say. However your also forgetting the money other countries owe us. Theres a lot out there. Start collecting to pay off the "debt".

Quote:

That explains why you know a lot of republicans. Bush is making the rich richer, and the poor poorer. He's creating a class divide in this nation like has never been seen before.

Bush tried to put tax breaks in for everybody, not just the rich. The rich are republicans because they understand that republicans work to make EVERYONE have more money by cutting things like welfare. Im not rich by any means Im actually just into middle class. However I know if you were to cut my taxes to stop paying for the guy down the street who refuses to work(there is plenty of work I can get you help wanted ads if you wish) then I'll bring home more money. If you would cut the gas tax instead of doubling it(democrats idea in MD, we'd have the highest gas tax in the country) I could bring home more money. These are simple things that would help me be more comfortable with my income. Im sorry but Im out to better myself as the crack dealer that breaks into my car on christmas eve to steal all the presents while Im at the store sure as hell doesn't care about me. Bad thing is he drives a benz and lives in government funded houses. Fuck that guy, he needs to be shot. Nothing but a plague on society.

Quote:

Well that's just retarded on our government's part if true, helping people buy a $600,000 house, but your argument contradicts itself. No one who is jobless can afford a 600k house. Yet still, you have a problem with spending our money on American's who have been laid off because of the massive job loss in this country, but no problem with burning our money or giving it to other countries?

When they are given to you you can afford them on any income. Its not people who have been laid off. You figure Balitomore and DC are some of the more dangerous cities in the country. Laid off?? I doubt it... actually I know thats not the case. The people that want to get out do.

Quote:

And I have seen these people "in need". Unlike you, I grew up in poor neighborhoods. I saw people struggle working multiple jobs to make ends meet, and those who did that, plus went to nightschool to try and get out of their situations, yet sometimes it wasn't enough. Not everyone can do that though. There are countless reasons for why people may be struggling. Or sometimes they needed extra help. I have no doubt there are many kinks in our system, and that there are those who don't need the help, getting more help than those who truely do need it. The system needs to be refined, not done away with. Maybe you should come down from your white tower and see what it's like in the common areas. Things aren't as glam as many of you think. And you may find it's not as easy as "get a job!" in many places and situations for many people.

"White tower"? The only reason I'd be up in my "white tower" is because my family and I worked our asses off to make our situation better. Just because Im not dirt poor now doesn't mean I started off that way. Like I said before, when I was born till I was about 3 my mom worked 3 jobs to put a roof over my head and food on the table for me. She didn't eat many nights because she could not afford to. After she got married she went to 2 jobs to make things meet for us. Now that shes married again she works a single job and is picking up a second job(as am I) this summer just to be able to have more than what we just need. So yea, I've seen it with my own eyes. The reason Im working as hard as I am is to not let my kids see the same thing. I want my kids to have a better life then I did. Theres a reason the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor and its not due to taxes. Its attitude. I realized this completely the other day when think about people view of rich people. Its actually a big eye opener. I use to think that you had to be born into it and taxes kept it that way. Actually I was a democrat for a while. Now I realize that anyone can make themselves "rich" with ease. Proper planning and attitude, thats all you need. Also Im not in college because I can't afford to go and am determined to make something of myself without it.

Bully that no one messes with? Everyone is messing with us, or do you not watch the news?

Japan has reinstated their military recently. They are working on becoming a force to be considered again. I think they realize that if the US does go belly up as many are predicting, they have no defenses, since currently we're pretty much their protection. They need more insurance, which is understandable.

And you can not take a single situation and pretend it would be ok to treat the entire world that way. We don't live in those days anymore, where armies met eachother on the battlefield, where you knew who your foe was because he was oposite you on the field, and when you duked it out, the winner was the last man standing. It is not open battle with another nation that we need to be worried about, it's the enemy that wants nothing more than to take as many of us with them as they die. Hiding in shadows. How long till our "bully" tactics piss off so many people, that we get a serious backlash? Chemical, or Nuclear backlash? Something that would make 9/11 look like a papercut. How long till we've invaded to many countries and the world is tired of us? How long till we destroy ourselves by spreading ourselves to thin, and throwing all of our resources/money down the drain? Not long I fear. At least at this rate.

You hate on Clinton for considering what other nations had to say. For using the U.N.. For being part of a world democracy, where no man or nation is king over all, and everyone gets a say. You hate on that? I guess you would if you support a tyrant king like Bush. A man who wont even listen to others and debate the best tactics for the Iraq War. A man who says he will DO WHAT HE WANTS, and it is HIS CHOICE. Are those the words of a leader of a democratic society as we like to pretend the US is? No.

I guess if you support tyranny and a monarchy, then trying to be part of a world union democracy wouldn't be attractive at all. And being a Bully to the world would seem the better alternative.

Long live the king!

The UN is a joke. Hey everybody lets talk about everything and solve nothing. IF the UN worked sadam wouldn't have needed to be taken out of power. Stalin wouldn't have committed the crimes he did. Yea, it works well. Its just like a glorified League of Nations. Same idea slightly different execution. The UN only worked right at first then it has failed ever since.

I'd have to say Spin has some points. That letter is classic, sad thing is thats how everyone I know felt. But for the democrats defense there are a bunch(I don't know exact numbers) of illegals that do indeed pay taxes already.

Who here is defending Clinton anyway? All I said is we shouldn't be so quick to be the tyrants of the world, and diss on past presidents for trying to be part of a democracty. I am a Registered Republican after all, but my true loyalties lie with my children and the future of this country. I also voted for bush in 2000, and greatly regret it. There are plenty of better Republicans out there to do the job. John McCain being one I like a lot. Former military and P.O.W. who actually cares for the people and has some sense.

And how old are you that you were able to vote for Clinton? ;)

Of course if either side digs around they'll find plenty of shit to pile up on the other, but currently the piles surrounding our President are far more than is acceptable for our countries leader. And no, those polls aren't wrong. Blind yourself as you will, but when 4 or 5 news publications that have nothing to do with eachother and don't even like eachother much, all come up with near the same result, how can it not be near accurate? Like I said, +-5% max.

That's why I said the system needs serious reform. It needs major attention that Bush isn't giving it because he's too caught up in robbing us blind with the Iraq War.

Believe it, how i put it is exactly how it happens, I have a cousin that works in the media industry and thats exactly how they get their results, so as you so eloquently put, blind yourself if you will.
